In class we had to choose a movie that had an impact on us. We had to write a post about the movie, and who the target audience was and how the movie appealed to the target audience. The post had to be 100-150 words long. When the whole class was done writing their post we had to leave a comment saying how the movie that they picked affected us. I chose to do my movie on “Moneyball”
I thought that the target audience for the movie Moneyball was ages 13 and up because there is some strong language that younger kids should no
t hear. This was a very good movie but it has to be for the right age group or they won’t understand the real meaning of the movie. This movie is also targeted to people who like biographies and drama andĀ also for people who are interested in baseball.
The movie moneyball is about Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) who is the General Manager for the baseball team “Oakland Athletics” which is the lowest paying team in Major League Baseball. Billy hired Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) to help him trade players and try to win the World Series. Peter and Billy focused on each players statistics so they could find the people they want on their team. The Oakland Athletics went from always losing to always winning in the year 2002. The team made it to the final game of the World Series and lost to the New York Yankees. The movie is based on a true story. The Oakland Athletics never won a World Series after that.
This movie made an impact on my life because it teaches me (and the viewers) that you can accomplish anything if you set your mind to it. In the movie Moneyball Billy Beane wanted to win the World Series so he traded players and set his mind to winning. His team made it to the finals all because Billy had a goal and accomplished it. When I am trying to accomplish something I will think of this movie and Billy and how he set his mind to doing something. This is a very inspirational movie and I recommend it to people who like biographies, drama and sports.
